Brainiacs Academy offers K-6 personalised one-on-one tutoring in English and Mathematics, tailored to support your child’s unique learning needs.

You may choose from:
• 30-minute session – $55.00
• 45-minute session – $77.00
• 1-hour session – $110.00
• Small group session – $55

Homeschooling Support

At Brainiacs Academy, we know homeschooling is a unique and rewarding journey for both parents and students. As experienced classroom teachers, we provide tailored support through one-on-one or small group sessions during school hours for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our flexible tutoring services cater to your child’s needs, helping them thrive. We create personalised programs aligned with your homeschooling goals, ensuring each lesson is engaging and targeted to their strengths and growth areas.

Beyond academics, we offer guidance on planning and programming for home learning and assist with homeschooling administration, including NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) applications and requirements.

Program Essentials: All You Need to Know!
How do drop offs and pick ups take place?
Parents and caregivers will drop off and pick up their children from the sheltered area near the Brainiacs Academy's main entrance. To launch our lessons with superhero speed, we'd love you to say your 'goodbyes' and make your exit as slick as Batman on a mission. Please remember to arrive on time for drop off/ pick up.
What is parking like near the venue?
Our venue is located down the laneway opposite Shag Hair. On-street parking can be a little tricky at times so allow extra time. There is a very convenient paid car park in the Lingard Private Hospital complex on Lingard Street, FREE parking alongside Townsen Oval in Mitchell Street less than a 5 minute stroll to Brainiacs Academy or you can also park for 3 hours FREE at the Junction Fair Shopping Centre located at 204 Union Street, The Junction. What happens if my child can't make a session?
No worries. Simply contact the Brainiacs Academy team via email at least 8 (EIGHT) hours before your child's class starts. If your child is going to be away for an extended period of time E.g. family holiday, please communicate this via email: admin@brainiacsacademy.com.au Please refer to our Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy on the website for further details.
What happens if a teacher cancels my child's session?
Unfortunately even teachers get sick from time to time. If this happens, you will receive a notification via text/ email. The teachers will be in touch to organise a Make-Up Session.
My child already attends preschool/childcare, so what makes the Brainiacs Academy's Kindy Ready Rock Stars Program worth enrolling in?
Great question! Our fantastic program blends the fun and lively nature of preschool and the structure of kindergarten. Here, our students gain the confidence to tackle new challenges and dive into learning with enthusiasm. We sprinkle in early literacy and numeracy concepts to equip them for their start to school. But that's not all! We also offer plenty of activities to enhance fine motor skills, and support social and emotional development. Whether it's solving playground dilemmas or mastering classroom tasks, we've got it covered. Our program is designed to meet each child's unique needs, boosting their confidence and knowledge along the way!
Why small groups?
Small groups are a real winner for learning, and here's why they work so well. Not only do children feel less overwhelmed with the support of others around them, it is the perfect opportunity for them to deepen their understanding, boost their confidence, and gain valuable life skills like cooperating and turn-taking. Plus, small groups help students to enhance their language skills, and build wonderful friendships. As teachers, we can keep a close eye on your child, making sure they're sailing smoothly through their learning adventures. If they need a little extra support or a high-five for nailing a task, we're right there, ready to cheer them on!
What should my child bring to each session?  
When you sign up, you will receive an email with detailed information about your child's session, including what to bring. This will cover clothing, footwear, food, and other essentials.

Independence and Responsibility
Moving into kindergarten is a big leap from preschool, and it's all about building those crucial skills of responsibility and independence. We guide our young learners by encouraging them to:

For Our Kindy Kids
Our sessions focus on building strong phonological awareness, a key foundation for reading success. We target essential skills like recognisng words, breaking words into syllables, and identifying individual phonemes. We help set our Brainiacs up for confident reading and writing.
Phonemic Awareness
In our program, Kindergarten students explore phonic knowledge by learning single letter graphemes and digraphs, laying the foundation for reading. As students progress, we introduce single-syllable and multisyllabic words for our older learners. This approach helps equip our Brainiacs with the skills needed to read and create texts.
Spelling
We want our Brainiacs to be super spellers, so we use the Get Reading Right synthetic phonics program to boost their confidence. Our sessions incorporate fun and engaging activities designed to get results!
Creating Written Texts
During our sessions, we will explore essential elements needed to be confident writers including text features, punctuation, grammar, vocabulary, planning and editing.
Reading Fluency and Comprehension
Our program builds reading fluency by focusing on key elements like automaticity, responding to punctuation, and adjusting pace and volume. Alongside fluency, we teach various strategies to comprehend texts, ensuring students grasp the deeper meaning, make connections, and engage critically with what they read.
